Simon Rozgonyi (died March 1414) was a Hungarian nobleman and judge royal, who supported Ladislaus of Naples against Sigismund, Holy Roman Emperor.[1] He had two wives, Anna and Margit, and five children.[2] His son Simon was bishop of Eger (1440–1444) and was killed in the Battle of Varna.[3]
Családja
Felesége Anna[4] volt, kivel már 1399-ben házasságban élt gyermekeivel.[5] Egy 1423-ban kelt oklevél egy Margit nevű asszonyról, Rozgonyi Simon özvegyéről tesz említést, aki V. Márton pápától nyert bűnbocsánatot.[6]
Gyermekei közül többen beírták magukat a magyar történelembe:
- Simon fia előbb veszprémi, majd egri püspök később fökancellár, aki a Várnai csatában vesztette életét
- István, Zsigmond király híve, több vármegye főispánja, országnagy
- György, országbíró
- Ilona, Hédervári György lovászmester felesége
